Bible Study: Ephesians 6:13-17

Note: This is a pre-written post.  Josh is currently on a missions trip and will return on the 23rd.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Whenever we do the work of God, we need to make sure we are fully armoured for the battle against the devil.  Wear the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit.

With this armour, you will be fully protected from the devil as you spread God’s love.

The belt of truth means you should speak only the truth as you speak about God.  The breastplate of righteousness enables you to be righteous in all your decisions.  The shoes of peace will assist you in staying calm and spreading the peace.  The shield of faith means you put your faith in God and trust that He will protect you from all harm.  The helmet of salvation is extremely important for obvious reasons.  With the sword of the Spirit in hand – the Word of God – you will be ready to attack the devil and declare God’s love for all.

Wear your armour for all to see.

Bible Study: Ephesians 5:8

Hey all~

Only seven days until I head off to Queensland on our Missions Trip!

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (Ephesians 5:8)

Many people claim to be avid followers of Christ, worshipping Him in public and so on.  But once they are away from Church or with a different group of friends, there they are swearing, drinking, taking drugs.  The same people who praise God one minute are doing disgusting, illegal [in the case of teenagers] things.

Instead of being a person who merely talks the talk, be the person who also walks the walk.  Don’t just say you’re a Christian; follow through and act as Christians should through every part of the day, no matter your mood, where you are or who you are with.

As Christians we should be a light to those in the darkness; a shining example of just how great our God is.

I hope you take this on board :D This is actually Bible Study #4, pretty cool actually.  I should have a new header up [the new underwater one looks hideous, I think it's due to the overdone effects haha].

Also, I bid a sad farewell to two of my oldest and dearest blogging friends, Carly and Chad, who have both quit blogging in the past couple of weeks.  Bye :[

Bible Study: Jeremiah 29:11-12

Hi there!

Jeremiah 29:11-12

11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”

Short and sweet.  Like I mentioned last week, Monday’s are often tough days so I think it’s important we start the week off well by looking in the Bible.  Jeremiah 29:11 – 12 are two short and simple verses.

I know I am not alone when I say that I am at the point in my life in which I am making major decisions regarding my future: my subjects for Years 11 and 12 and my career path among other things.

God knows us, as I spoke about last week.  He has the ultimate plan for us – a plan that is good.  It is up to us to ask God what that plan is if we are unsure as to our career and He will tell us and help us get there.  Remember, no matter where you go in the future, do not forget the importance of God, your family and your friends.
