First of all, I am so so so sorry for not posting for two and a half weeks. School’s started, I’ve started working, I’ve been busy. I’m sorry =|
Secondly, I haven’t written a movie review, ever, so here you go! I saw this two weeks ago, or something.
Movie Review; Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel
In short: High-pitched rodents – wasn’t one enough?
I’m not too sure why they went and made a sequel, or “squeakquel” for Alvin and the Chipmunks. The first movie was surprisingly good. I personally don’t think a sequel was needed.
This half-animated half-…not animated [yes, I’m using very basic terms…as I don’t know official ones haha] movie is, for those who have been living under a rock, about three chipmunks setting out on their singing career. Alvin, the cocky leader is more cocky than ever before. Add Simon, the brainy brother, and Theodore, the mega adorable youngest sibling and you know these three are going to cause trouble.
In the last movie, the Chipmunks overthrew their evil manager. Since then, he’s been looking for revenge. All of a sudden, a money magnet rolls into his life – literally. The Chipettes. These girl chipmunks can sing too, but the devious manager destroys their dreams of meeting the Chipmunks, who are apparently “evil”. Concurrently, Dave, The Chipmunks’ owner, gets injured and is stuck in hospital, leaving the Chipmunks with the irresponsible Toby.
Through a totally undramatic turn of events, the Chipmunks battle it out against the Chipettes in a singing competition. The two groups learn the importance of friendship and family, after the Chipmunks are torn apart by Simon’s and Alvin’s constant quarelling, leaving poor Theodore sad and alone.
Apart from Theodore’s brilliance (“Aunt Jackie [old lady who hurt herself in a fall] is pole dancing!”) the movie is nothing more than a squeak.
I have a lot of updates to do on the site, so here’s a checklist:
[ ] update games page with buttons and new games
[ ] revamp reviews page
[ ] reveal new “secret” page
[ ] unveil new home page
[ ] write numerous reviews: two book reviews, two music reviews, two game reviews
Hopefully I’ll have another post soon =D
